About Bizzy

Bizzy Brahman Stud was established in 1976 by current owners and operators Michael and Elizabeth Fahey and are now assisted by their 4 children & spouses - Margaretta & Cye Travers, Burnett, Innes & Jessica and Alice & Matt Edwards.

The stud property “Nettle Creek” is situated on the banks of the Clarence River approx. 55kms north west of Grafton in Northern NSW.

Operating both a red and grey herd, the stud was established on original Australian bloodlines such as Walla, Avondale, Waverly and Cherokee. The Bizzy stud sells bulls into QLD, NSW, NT, WA, southern states of Australia and most recently, international sales to Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia & New Caledonia.

Bulls and females that are offered for sale are a true endorsement of what the Bizzy breeding program has become renown for – producing Bos Indicus cattle capable of breeding versatile progeny suited to a variety of markets, and therefore, more profitable for the commercial producer. Bred on coastal, forest, spear grass country, and raised under commercial conditions, Bizzy cattle, with the trademark BIZ brand, are renowned for their efficiency, fertility, constitution and their ability to maintain themselves and perform in all environments, under all conditions.

With many years of breeding, our top females have been selected for IVF, Embryo Transfer and AI programs using both imported and Australian genetics.

Bizzy Brahmans has shown most successfully for the past 25 years winning their first championship in 1979 and their most recent in June 2007 with many Supreme, Grand, Senior and Junior male and female awards. The last 3 years has seen Bizzy Brahmans achieve Supreme exhibit and Grand Champion status at the countries Royal and leading Brahman exhibitions, also winning many interbreed Championships, competing against 12-15 others breeds.

Being a stud with a commercial focus, Bizzy provides its Brahman cross commercial herd with replacement sires. On the other side, purebred commercial Brahman females are joined to registered Angus bulls, thus providing a very successful F1 operation with all females sold as the extremely efficient “super-mum”.

Brahman bulls are sold annually at the Bizzy Invitational Bull & Female Sale at Grafton (on the first weekend in September every year) and at Rockhampton Brahman Week Sales in October. Angus x Brahman and Charolais x Brahman F1 females are sold once a year at the Nettle Creek Invitational Commercial Female Sale in Grafton at the end of February.

Michael and Elizabeth Fahey also operate the "Nettle Creek" Brangus and Charbray Studs with bulls offered privately and at the Bizzy Invitational Bull & Female Sale as well as theCasino All Brreds Sale in July.

Enquiries and visitors are most welcome.
